Hi there, it's me, Gackson, your friendly neighborhood photographer. I recently had the pleasure of capturing precious moments of Amber, her charming husband Alex, and their adorable puppy, Whisky. Amber, a fellow photographer (@amberfritts.photography), asked me to photograph them on the last day of the year, and I jumped at the opportunity. The sunset shoot was filled with laughter, jokes, and memories that will certainly last a lifetime.

Amber is a Mexicana, and as Sandra says in Caramelo, 'That’s how we are, Mexicanas—pure courage and passion. That’s what we’re made of…that’s us. We love like we hate.' This quote speaks volumes about the spirit of Amber, Alex, and even Whisky. They love hard and live passionately.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show, Whisky. The moment Amber met him, she knew he had to come home with them. He was a tiny fluff ball who filled their lives with his loving nature and curiosity. One of the highlights of our shoot was capturing the bond between Whisky and his humans.

On the topic of Amber's favorite parts of the shoot, she said, 'Being able to create memories that will outlive us.' Indeed, the essence of photography is to freeze a moment in time, to create memories that will be cherished forever.

As for Alex, Amber sees him as more than just her husband. To her, Alex is her soulmate, and she means it in the most profound sense. Their life hasn't always been smooth; juggling two military careers can be challenging. But they make it work, because, as Amber rightly said, 'Marriage is work.'

Music was an integral part of this shoot, and 'Luther' by Kendrick Ft. SZA was our soundtrack. It added a lively rhythm to our session as we chased the sunset on Oahu, creating timeless memories.

As a photographer, my joy comes from bringing out your joy from within, because we're not here just to take pictures, we're here to create memories. And that's what we did with Amber, Alex, and Whisky. Their story is one of love, courage, and passion, just like many of you out there. So here's to creating more beautiful memories together.
